How we check state sites

Our checker identifies itself as LeftoverTagAlerts/0.2 (+https://leftovertagalerts.com/bot). It reads only public pages that list leftover, remaining, returned or reissued hunting licenses, so hunters can be told when they change.

• It follows your robots.txt and skips any page it disallows for our user agent or for all agents.
• It requests each page at most once every 15 minutes during that list's sales season and once a day the rest of the year, one request at a time.
• It backs off automatically when a page returns errors.
• It never logs in, submits forms, buys licenses or touches the license sales system. Every alert sends hunters to your own site to buy.
